What to expect
Alameda de Hércules is a long, tree-lined public square in north-central Seville, established in 1574. Its southern end is marked by two Roman columns topped with statues of Hercules and Julius Caesar; farther along, poplars, fountains and open paved areas make room for a slower stroll. The surrounding blocks add bookshops, small theatres, bars and cafés, so the square shifts from a quiet walk to a social stop later in the day.
